There's a lot of misconceptions as to what exactly is all required to make a face work in game, and what all programs you need.
Tutorials on this replacing an npc's face are generally long winded youtube videos and usually give extra steps that aren't needed. Hopefully this is helpful to someone: I figured this all out through trial and error. I tried to put this as a reply to another post, but it goes over the character limit.
